Graduating with an MA in History from Edinburgh University, Helen moved to London where she worked with an advertising research and brand communications company before moving to Tokyo in 2006. During her seven years in Tokyo, Helen worked as a teacher, translator and creator of language education materials before becoming a mom and moving back to London.
After moving to New York, Helen set up an educational blog to share craft ideas, fun activities and new music on the children’s music scene. Helen was able to utilize her passion for education, creativity and writing and the blog was successful in becoming a prominent ‘kindie‘ (kids’ music) blog in the U.S., which not only promoted album releases in children’s music but also suggested ways in which the music could inspire activities and crafts.
Helen joined the NAISNY team as a 2s teacher before taking her position on the Admissions and Marketing Team. As a mother of two NAISNY students, an ex-pat and former teacher, Helen brings a unique perspective to her role as Admissions Manager which helps new families seamlessly integrate with the school community.
Outside of work, Helen is a keen runner, skier and snowboarder who enjoys an active lifestyle with her family.
