Sally received her degree in Sport, Physical Education and Community Studies from Birmingham University in the year 2000 before going on to complete her PGCE in Primary Education the following year. She taught in the UK for over 12 years before moving to teach in Shanghai, China in 2012.
Sally has 20 years of teaching experience across Primary age groups. She has worked with children from a wide range of backgrounds and enjoys the challenge of developing children’s skills and knowledge. Sally has many years of experience teaching early years age children, with a particular focus on English and maths.
As a leader, Sally has held the roles of Head of School and also SENCo, which enabled her to utilize her experience and educational knowledge to impact the students in her care. Sally’s experience of being a SENCO includes being part of a school that was seen as outstanding by government inspections and also in an international school with students from a range of countries, education systems and cultures. Sally is also highly skilled at working with students who have English as an Additional Language.
In her spare time, Sally looks forward to spending quality time with her family; she has active twin boys to keep her busy. Sally has a passion for sport and enjoys team games such as netball and hockey, as well as challenging herself as a runner and gym member.
Sally is looking forward to joining the NAISNY school community and experiencing family life in New York.
