Originally from Virginia, Emily studied at James Madison University where she received a degree in Media Arts and Design. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she taught art for two years as a Teach for America fellow.
Emily is passionate about providing a meaningful and inclusive art education experience in which all students can learn to love creating. She admires the power that art has to connect cultures, shape world-views, and instill confidence in students. Through hands-on, project-based learning, Emily aims to guide students through the process of creating personal, effective works of art.
Outside of the classroom, Emily works in many different mediums including illustration, painting, fiber arts and graphic design. When she’s not creating, Emily also loves to read, try new foods and spend time outdoors.
