This term ‘The English Champs’ have worked together to create an amazing Year 2 DCIS magazine.
During the Year 2 ECA ‘The English Champs’ the children got to experience how you put together a real magazine. First the children investigated different magazines like ‘KIDS - The National Geographic’ and identified what articles they’d like to have in their own magazine. Then each child selected what page they would like to tackle and wrote a draft copy. When they were completely happy with their work, the children wrote it up in neat and chose where they wanted their page to go in the magazine.
After all of their pages were completed, the children designed potential front covers for the magazine. To ensure that everyone’s ideas were taken into account, we used different elements of each others' designs for the final front cover. The children checked that they were completely happy with the order of the pages, they signed their work and wrote the page numbers on each page. Finally, they created the contents page and proof-read the magazine to check for mistakes.
The children should be extremely proud of their efforts to produce this sensational magazine in such a short amount of time. All of them were extremely hard working and motivated to do their best. Well done!
