As a part of her university course, Kiara had the opportunity to teach in various settings with children of all socio-economic backgrounds. These experiences helped foster her love and passion for teaching children. After qualifying, she went to the UK and taught Years 2, 3, and 5. While in the UK, she achieved her Qualified Teacher Status and Overseas Trained Teacher certification.
Kiara has been at Dover Court International School for over ten years. During which time she has taught Years 1 and 2, worked as Year Group Leader, organized whole school events such as UN day, and led a variety of subject areas, including English and PSHCE for the Primary School.
Her passion for Early Education led her to her previous position as Deputy Head of Primary post, which she held for five years before taking on the role as interim Head of Primary. She recognizes that children learn and grow best in an engaging and motivating environment. As such, Kiara has worked with her teams to ensure that the curriculum offered gives children the opportunities they require to be happy, resilient, kind learners, most importantly, valuing the process of learning over the product.
As a part of her ongoing development, Kiara volunteers as an evaluator for the Council of International Schools. She has worked with other top international schools in the region to continue their development and improvement journeys.
Kiara is excited to be leading the Primary School until the end of the academic year and to ensure that it is inclusive, stimulating, and engaging for all students.
