Originally from London, Nicola graduated with a B.A in Primary Education from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She then spent 13 years teaching within the inner London boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Hackney. In London, Nicola worked across the Primary age phase, holding various middle and senior leadership positions, including head of year, phase leader and Assistant Headteacher.
Nicola views learning holistically, and a curriculum design and school ethos that prioritises developing the whole child. She is particularly passionate about early literacy and inclusive teaching practices. Working with younger students emphasised the importance of social and emotional development, as well as building positive home-school partnerships.
Nicola joined the leadership team at Bangkok Patana School in 2018, taking up the role of Senior Teacher for Student Support Services, in which her roles included leading the work of the inclusion teams, PSHE lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Supporting students in acquiring the key competencies they need to navigate the ever-evolving world around is a key driver in Nicola’s educational philosophy.
Being committed to continual professional learning and having a keen interest in the ways people think and behave, has led Nicola to undertake her master’s degree in Psychology through the University of Wolverhampton.
Out of school, Nicola is a keen traveller and enjoys exploring the SE Asia region. Discovering new places foods is one of her interests, as is spending time keeping fit and being outdoors with her partner and two children.
