Ms Jacqueline Glazerman

Jacqueline Glazerman

Deputy Head of Secondary - Community and Guidance

Jacqueline graduated from Lougborough University with a BSc (Hons) in Geography, Physical Education and Sports Science, before completing a PGCE in Physical Education at the University of Brighton.

Her early career was spent teaching PE and Dance in schools in North West London, where she held the role of a Form Tutor initially, before her passion for pastoral care saw her move on to a Head of Year role. Teaching and supporting students from a range of diverse backgrounds, often with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs established Jacqueline's commitment to the need to understand and prioritise young people's wellbeing. Additionally, the experience fostered a belief that with the right support and encouragement, every child had the ability to succeed, but that this success would look different for different people.

A thirst for adventure and travel, and the desire to learn about and be part of a new culture, saw Jacqueline move to Spain in 2010. During her time in Spain, she held a range of middle and senior leadership roles at Caxton College, one of Valencia's top British schools, before becoming Co-Headteacher, with responsibility for student's pastoral care and support, as well as being the Secondary school's Designated Safeguarding Lead. This role brought into sharp focus her own educational philosophy; that emotional wellbeing and strong student/teacher relationships underpin academic progress and success and that as such, these must be placed at the heart of a school's vision.

Having spent over a decade in Spain, and having completed her NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) Jacqueline was on the lookout for a new adventure. It was the diverse and inclusive nature of Dover Court that attracted Jacqueline to the school, as well as the school's commitment to strong pastoral care and support for its students.

Beyond school, Jacqueline enjoys being physically active, whether that's through HIIT workouts, spinning, stand-up paddle boarding or hiking with her family. She's also a keen baker, whose home is often filled with smells of vanilla cupcakes and chocolate brownies! With family and friends all over the world, she is an avid traveller, who is enjoying being able to explore a new part of the world.
