Originally from the UK, Caroline taught in several different Early Years settings. Starting in a school in a town near Oxford, Caroline took on a large class and developed her passion for phonics and its ability to give children a love of language and a desire to learn new words and to read.
In her next role, Caroline worked in multi-cultural, inner-city school within Oxford, leading a class containing children speaking 14 different languages. In such a diverse class, she saw the advantages of inspiring children in an outdoor setting, through the ‘Forest School’ program.
Following this, Caroline ran the Early Years and Foundation Stage of a smaller rural, community school teaching a mixed class of Early Years and Year 1 children. During this time, she was Early Years coordinator as well as Art and Design & Technology coordinator.
Caroline has a passion for child development and recently completed a diploma in Montessori method of education to further sharpen her skills. She believes that Early Years is a very important time in a child’s life and she loves finding creative ways to enable each child to achieve their full potential, whatever their needs or abilities. She is committed to helping children to aim high and flourish in a safe, happy learning environment.
Outside of school, Caroline enjoys running 5K, 10K and Half Marathons with her family as well as exploring everything that Singapore and South East Asia has to offer.
