Originally from Cheshire in the UK, Laura’s early years of teaching were spent in London and since then she has spent a happy six years teaching at an international school in Lisbon, Portugal.
Whilst studying, Laura was a member of Team Bath University netball club and also participated in dance and kickboxing clubs. Having thoroughly enjoyed a placement year at the British School of Beijing during her university life, Laura moved to London to complete her PGCE where she taught in KS2 and KS1.
After several years in London, Laura decided to relocate to Lisbon and has since enjoyed teaching in Key Stage 1 and the Early Years. As a teacher, she strives to build trusting relationships with all children in her care, enhancing their sense of belonging and wellbeing, which in return supports each child’s holistic development. Laura is passionate about helping and motivating children to build on learning experiences by following their own interests, making learning fun and engaging. During her time in Portugal, Laura has taken on middle leadership roles including maths lead for Early Years and Key Stage 1, house coordinator and house leader.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys playing a variety of sports including tennis and netball. She loves to read, bake, take photographs and travel to interesting places around the world. Laura is looking forward to being able to explore more of South East Asia whilst in Singapore!
