Angelica Sirisena

Year 2 Class Teacher, 2AS (Full Time)

Angelica was born and raised in Hong Kong although her family roots originate in Sri Lanka. She graduated from King’s College London with a BSc in Biology and then completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education at the Institute of Education, University of London.

Angelica taught in London for nine years, initially as a classroom teacher and then as a subject leader. Being a firm believer in lifelong education, she studied part-time whilst teaching to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Psychology of Education. Angelica is a member of the British Psychological Society where she keeps up-to-date with new developments in Educational Psychology.

Angelica has taught in every year group across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  She is passionate about helping each child be the best they can be, not just in terms of their academic progress but also as individuals who can make a positive impact in their community.  As a mother of two young sons, Angelica has gained a wealth of first-hand experience in child development and early childhood education.

Angelica enjoys a variety of sports including tennis, hockey and swimming.  She also loves music, having learnt the piano as a child and is currently teaching herself the ukulele. Angelica is a Scout Leader and enjoys sharing her love of the outdoors with the next generation of Scouts. One of Angelica’s favourite things to do is build craft projects with her two boys; the messier the better!
