Katie Warren

Katie Warren

Year 2 Class Teacher, 2KW (Full Time)

Inspired by her own teachers, Katie knew she was destined to be a teacher from an early age. She graduated from Plymouth Marjon University with BA Honours in Sports Development and English and went on to complete a PGCE in teaching at the same university. Katie’s ambition is to ensure that every child develops a love of learning and that they are given opportunities to shine and enter the world as confident, global citizens.

Whilst studying, Katie was a member of the netball team and also volunteered back at her childhood schools. Originally from Plymouth in the UK, Katie’s first year of teaching was spent in Plymouth but she intended to spend some time teaching abroad to work in a more diverse setting. Katie moved to Bangkok and gained a plethora of experience while also developing a new found love of travel and culture. Also working at an international school in Greece, as well as spending some time teaching back in the UK, Katie has gained a wealth of experience as an educator.

During her teaching career, Katie has taught KS1 and KS2, and has enjoyed being a drama coordinator, directing a number of successful primary shows. Katie has also hosted a number of tournaments and fundraising days, developing the sense of community during these events.

Out of school, Katie is an avid traveller. Her time in Bangkok ignited a desire to explore the world and volunteer. She has previously worked with a group of teachers and engineers to help build a library for a school in the north of Thailand. In her spare time, Katie enjoys reading, photography and coastal walks. She has a true zest for life and loves exploring the world.
