Poppy Russo

Poppy Russo

Teacher Librarian (Full Time)


Poppy Russo graduated from the University of Exeter with BA (Hons) History. The following year, she trained as a teacher in Primary Education with the University of East London. Since then, Poppy has taught in a range of schools in the UK as well as in Singapore. 


Throughout her time as a classroom teacher, Poppy has developed a keen interest in literacy and reading. She is passionate about developing a community of readers within the school and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for children’s literature through the library to truly embed a love of reading in all children.  Poppy is also keen to collaborate with teachers across the school to promote an information-rich and resource-based approach to learning across all phases which nurtures ambition and success for every child.

Poppy is also currently pursuing her Masters in Education – Literacy & Language with the University of Exeter, which has provided her with rich insights into the theories, practice, research and policies that are shaping the future of education.

Outside of school, Poppy loves reading a variety of books and blogging about children’s literature. Poppy enjoys volunteering and has been a committed member of the volunteer youth organisation Girlguiding for many years. She also has a passion for performing arts and theatre.
