Originally from Manchester, UK, Leonie Cole always knew she wanted to pursue a career in the arts. After gaining a BA Hons in Design and Realisation in Brighton, she began a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Art, Design and Media soon after. This is when she fell in love with teaching and encouraging students to take risks, push creative boundaries and explore their own artistic identity.
Leonie gained experience teaching in the UK in a variety of schools, including SEN and independent schools, before she moved to Shanghai, where she led an art department for two years before moving to Singapore. She has delivered courses in Art and Design, as well as Photography and Design Technology at GCSE, A-level and IBDP level. She believes that art offers so much more beyond just creativity and she aims to instill passion, the ability to reflect and critique and the desire to question and challenge in all of her students. She enjoys promoting the arts throughout the school and has established a variety of events, shows and workshops for students, staff and parents.
Outside the classroom, Leonie enjoys challenging her fitness with HIIT classes, running, Gaelic football and uses her down time to travel and explore the world with a sketchbook in hand.
