Since graduating, Ailsa has built up extensive teaching experience in both mainstream and specialist settings across primary. She has held leadership roles co-coordinating KS1 and EYFS and was appointed as Primary Pathway 2 Leader at DCIS in 2019
Having always had a passion for SEND and inclusive learning, Ailsa decided to pursue this area of education. She continually strives to further her knowledge and skill set and develop creative ways to meet the diverse needs of her learners. Ailsa places great importance on nurturing children’s social and emotional wellbeing, so they have the confidence to communicate and express themselves. She believes by creating a safe, engaging and stimulating environment, children thrive as resilient and successful life- long learners.
Ailsa enjoys spending time with her family and exploring all the wonderful places this part of the world has to offer. She keeps active by doing Pilates and going running with the newest member of her family, her puppy Banksy! Ailsa loves playing the piano and has recently taught herself guitar and ukulele, which she enjoys sharing in class.
