After graduating from Portsmouth University, Nish worked in the financial industry for 11
years. However, she wanted to find a more meaningful vocation which led her to pursue a
career in education. Initially Nish supported young learners in a local Primary school with
literacy and maths and subsequently in a Secondary school in her hometown London, UK. In
2009 Nish moved with her family to Singapore and soon after joined a international school,
working in the learning support and humanities faculty. Teaching individual students, small
groups and in a whole class setting has allowed her to adapt easily to students’ strengths
and limitations, so they can achieve their potential.
Nish believes passionately in education being accessible for all. She has worked extensively
with students with learning differences to encourage academic curiosity and provides
pastoral care, so that each child feels valued, happy and successful. As a mentor, Nish takes
a holistic approach to improving outcomes and has guided many students along their
learning journey. Committed to ongoing professional development, Nish strives to enhance
her skills by embarking on various educational courses. She is also passionate about sharing
good practice and has delivered teacher training at international conferences and to
facilitators in Cambodia through the charity ‘Caring for Cambodia’ which she supports.
Outside of school, Nish values time with her family and friends, enjoys watching movies and
loves travelling to explore diverse regions, cultures and cuisines.
