Arti Shukla

Arti Shukla

Year 3 Class Teacher, 3AS (Full Time)

Arti graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a BA (hons) in photography. She spent a couple of years working as a cruise ship photographer after which, she ran her own business as a photographer whilst volunteering at local public and private schools. During this time, she realised that working with children was where her passion lay and so decided to embark upon a teaching career.

After qualifying as a teacher on the Graduate Teacher Programme, Arti commenced her teaching career at Wolverhampton Grammar School teaching 4 teacher. Whilst there, she implemented the 2015 British computer science curriculum. Four years later, the travel bug resurfaced, and she moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to begin the journey of teaching internationally. There, she worked for three years at an international school teaching year 5. She moved to Singapore from Nairobi, Kenya, where she taught Year 4.

Arti believes that children should not only achieve to the best of their ability but love learning, become confident, considerate individuals and develop lifelong learning skills. Passionate about sustainability and the global goals, she is keen to make green changes and inspire children to be valuable members of the community. In addition, Arti loves to bring learning to life through offering real experiences. As such she has invited a World War 2 survivor to talk to the children, has organised the planting of trees, set up composting grounds for children to be responsible for and run business enterprise projects to raise money for charity.

Alongside teaching, Arti loves to travel and experience different cultures. She loves nature and fitness activities such as jungle walking, going on safari, practising yoga and Muay Thai. Having already lived in southeast Asia, she is keen to continue her journey in Singapore whilst exploring neighbouring countries.
