Initially, Sophia has worked at a primary school in Southampton. She has experience teaching in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and has also undertaken subject leadership in Modern Foreign Languages and Maths, providing support and guidance for colleagues across the school and developing teaching programmes.
She has also been a phase leader, leading a team of teachers through planning and assessment, as well as developing consistent teaching and learning strategies across the phase. At Dover Court Sophia is a member of the middle leadership team where she heads Year 4; in this particular role she is relishing the opportunity to develop her skillset further as a leader.
Sophia’s love of languages comes from an appreciation of the world and the diversity of cultures around her. She brings this broadmindedness to her teaching and encourages her students to adopt an open, positive and inquisitive attitude towards all new situations and people. Her classroom is a place for curious learners, looking to make sense of the world around them.
Outside of school, Sophia enjoys new experiences. Apart from travelling, her hobbies include exercising, attending museums and galleries, and socialising with family and friends. She is also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do! Sophia is delighted to have the opportunity to discover and explore Singapore and the surrounding countries in Southeast Asia.
