Johnathon Clarke

Johnathon Clarke

Year 5 Class Teacher, 5JC (Full Time)

Johnathon joined Dover Court in August 2019 after working in Coventry, where he gained experience as a class teacher, both in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. In his previous school, Johnathon was a teacher governor and was responsible for monitoring the impact of whole class reading approaches across the school.

Johnathon is passionate about inclusion and differentiation, catering to the needs of all pupils. He has a dynamic teaching style and believes in balancing high teaching standards with an engaging and nurturing environment to support all young people in meeting their potential. Due to this, he has been undertaking training from the Centre of Excellence to develop his understanding of teaching students with additional needs. Johnathon strongly believes in supporting children’s emotional regulation and utilises emotion coaching to ensure that students can communicate effectively and feel socially and emotionally empowered.

He is particularly interested in teaching maths but as an advocate for the arts, Johnathon believes that teaching through drama and play can enhance the learning experience for all students.

Outside of school, Johnathon enjoys travelling, visiting the theatre and playing board games with friends. His other hobbies include cooking and gardening.
