My first impressions of our new home are all very positive. The school is beautiful, and the staff, both teaching and non-teaching, have all been very welcoming. The children, the most important part, are polite but also bubbling with enthusiasm. The city, with its combination of parks and history is a lovely place to live. My apartment is also very nice even though we are still “camping” in it as our shipping has not yet arrived. All in all we are delighted to be here in what is clearly a premium education school, in a premium city.
But all of that is just the comfort side of things. I’ve started working with the teachers and I’m really impressed with their professionalism and their dedication to giving their classes the best possible education. As I go into classrooms I see children puzzling out things, problem solving, interacting with their teachers and working on a variety of activities that will prepare them for the many challenges ahead. Work and study doesn’t have to hurt, and I’m pleased to see so many happy and contented faces, and to hear expressions of delight at figuring something out. The children are very lucky to be in this dynamic, High Performance Learning School, and I feel lucky to be a new member of your family.
