To IGCSE and IB Mathematics Students

05 September 2014

To all IGCSE and IB Mathematics Students

As part of the IGCSE (Extended and Core) course and the IB course, students are required to have a graphic display calculator (GDC). There is no option here since many IGCSE exam questions and many IB exam questions will be specifically designed for the use of such a calculator.

In order to ensure educational success, we require uniformity of the calculators used by the students. We require all students to have this calculator within the 6 weeks of the new academic year.

The department uses Casio fx-9860GII. The calculator comes with an English manual, link for the computer and computer software.

You can buy the calculator online through the UK or through our school supplier in Warsaw. Please note that our supplier charges a the total cost of 450 zloty

The website for a UK based company is given below.

Letters were given to students in year 10 and 12 on the first Maths lesson. I have been collecting order forms and money this week and will continue to do so next week, the last date to order a calculator through the school is 12 September 2014.

If you decide not to purchase GDC through The British School Warsaw then please make sure that your son/daughter will have such a calculator in class by the end of September 2014.

Kind Regards
