Academic Review Day

20 October 2015

  • Student life

What is an Academic Review Day?

This is an opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss your child’s progress, in the same way as at a parent teacher evening.

Where will the meetings take place?

Teachers will meet with you in the classroom they usually teach in.

How do I make an appointment?

  1. Your child will bring home an appointment form one week before the Academic Review Day.
  2. Tell your child at what time you can come and your child will arrange appointments with individual teachers.
  3. On 3rd November come to school with the form and meet teachers at the times which have been arranged.

Will the teachers be available at all times?

The teachers will be available between 12.00 and 19.00 except for scheduled lunch and breaks which will be blocked out on the appointment form. Some teachers may be unavailable at certain times because they will be teaching Year 13.

Should my child come with me?

Yes, your child is very welcome, but you child must wear full school uniform.

Will my child have lessons as well?

No, Year 7 – 12 do not have normal lessons on this day.

Why is there an Academic Review Day?

So that parents can meet teachers for a longer time. Our surveys at parent teacher meetings indicated that parents want more time to speak to the teachers.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, or your child’s Form Tutor, if you have any further questions.
