Nord Anglia Education’s schools stretch across the globe. Our 42 schools are located in five regions with the latest member being the British International School of Chicago, South Loop. Situated in the heart of the city, BIS South Loop opened its doors this year.
As the family grows and diversifies so does the breadth of curriculum provided. At our school the educational programme is structured on the National Curriculum through to Key Stage 4 followed by the International Baccalaureate. However, there are also schools that offer a different curriculum due to specific national qualifications in their countries. Our schools in Switzerland, for example, prepare students not only for the International Baccalaureate but also for the Swiss Maturité and the French Baccalaureate.
Whilst each school displays unique characteristics the educational philosophy remains the same. The key principles on which our schools operate apply to each of the 42 schools, no matter where a school is located or what curriculum is followed. We refer to this as the Nord Anglia Approach.
We believe there is no limit to what our students can achieve. So we encourage them to be ambitious. To reach for their dreams. To step outside their comfort zones and try something new. We ignite their curiosity.
Being ambitious is inspirational. It urges our students to stretch themselves that little bit further. To be relentlessly optimistic. To be the best that they can be. And beyond that to make a difference, to make things better, throughout our world.
Ambition can take you anywhere. It’s transformational. It’s what makes the extraordinary possible. But it’s only the spark. It takes passion, determination and commitment to make it a reality. It takes creativity and innovation. It takes resilience and courage. It takes confidence.
We build on each student’s individual strengths and passions. That’s why our outstanding teachers nurture them through personalised learning for each child. We create challenge in every lesson and every activity so that they continuously grow and learn. We offer unique experiences to open new opportunities. We empower our students to achieve beyond what they may have imagined, academically, socially and personally across our family of schools.
Starting this month, each of the 42 schools has adopted the motto Be Ambitious.
In the months ahead you will be hearing a great deal about Be Ambitious. It will be embedded in all that we do, from the Global Campus to our Houses, sport, community projects, assemblies to name but a few areas. We encourage students, parents and teachers to be ambitious when it comes to the education of the children in our care.
