News from the Sports Desk

10 March 2017

As we move towards the middle of March we were reminded this week that our Key Stage 3 / Under 14 sports teams are starting their final preparations for Madrid and their two day Nord Anglia tournament. Having hosted a similar one ourselves back in November, we know first-hand what a buzz it creates in the host school, to know that friends from all over Europe will be arriving to compete in competition of the highest level. Earlier this week Miss O Looney, the trip leader, met with parents to present the final details of what should be an amazing trip.

In preparation for the tournament are teams are starting to finalise their plans. Practises have clearly been a little more intense and the old adage of “train like you play” comes to mind. The PE team have also been arranging final fixtures for the teams, so that the students can blow off any last remains of the winter and be completely ready for the tournament which takes place in just under two weeks time.

This coming Saturday 11th March, our boys U9 Football team will compete in the Delta cup, they have been training hard throughout the winter and it will be great for them to finally play once again in tournaments.

Next week will also see another first for TBS, as we send teams to the Polish Local Schools Badminton tournament. This is new venture for our students and further evidence of the growing number of sports offered at the school. Good Luck to Mr Marwood and the students involved.

We wish all of our teams the very best of luck next week and we will give you more details of how they fair in next weeks newsletter
