Message from our Head of Secondary

Last week I wrote briefly about Parent Voice and this morning I have just written to all parents to give more information on the optional summer uniform items for Secondary.

  • Parent Voice

Where’s the link you may ask? Well, towards the end of last year, I sent a survey out to parents canvassing opinion about the idea of a summer uniform. It was overwhelmingly positive.

I didn’t send a similar survey to students - I already knew their opinion! Plus, some of the student leadership members were involved in helping me look at specific items. Suffice to say, we know that we need to improve our parent voice provision but we are already seeing some changes based on what you are asking for and telling us; summer uniform is just one.

Our Parent Voice Representatives in Key Stage 3 – see the list below, are holding a Key Stage 3 Familiarisation & Feedback Meeting on Thursday 9th May at 8.30am in the Secondary Library – please come along to meet them, myself and air your views and concerns in an objective and constructive way. We would love to welcome as many parents as possible, watch out for their advertising poster over the coming weeks.

On a final note, it was a real treat to be in the audience at the Secondary Music Recital and to tour the IB Art Vernissage on Wednesday evening. Both excellent opportunities for our students to show case their talents. Thanks to all those involved, particularly the students.

Have an enjoyable weekend.
