Pleased to Meet you....Samantha McKinley

This week we are pleased to meet Mrs Samantha Kinley, Reception Teacher & EYFS Assessment Co-ordinator

  • SK

Where are you from originally?

I am originally from Chicago, Illinois in the US.

Have you lived in any other countries?

I lived in Prague, Czech Republic for three years which is one of my favourite places in the world (and also where I met and married my husband) and  Guangzhou, China for three years.

Where and what did you study for your education?

I studied Elementary Education at Eastern Illinois University.

How long have you been at TBS?

This is my first year at TBS.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at our school?

At Dab we are so lucky to have such a wonderful outdoor environment for a city school and gives us more opportunities to explore and learn.

What are you most looking forward to in the 2018/2019 academic year?

I look forward to building up our outdoor learning area for more learning experiences and play.

Whose your favourite historian/scientist/literary figure and why?

I know it has been said before but I would have to go with J.K. Rowling. I grew up reading her books and remember sitting down and not getting up until I was finished. There are not many books as enchanting as Harry Potter.

What is your favourite thing about living in Warsaw, Poland?

There is a bit of everything here! Great food options, plenty of parks and a beautiful Old Town. I missed European architecture after living in Asia so I love going on walks and exploring the city.

What do you miss most from home?

I come from a very close family who I miss very much. Another reason we chose Warsaw is that there are direct flights back to Chicago! But in case my family do not read this the food is a very close second - I would love a Chipotle in Warsaw!
