PTA Corner Welcome Back - Time for New Year!

It’s official! We made it through the first week of school and are well on our way to a fun and exciting 2019-2020 school year.

  • Petit PTA

The PTA has been working hard to greet all of our new members, as well as catch up with all the friendly returning faces.

You might have noticed a few new, smaller additions to our ranks- the Petit PTA joined us in full force to welcome and escort new families during TBS’ annual New Family Orientation Day. They looked very smart in their PTA shirts and were a huge help to everyone. The new students especially seemed to enjoy being met with the happy faces of their peers. Every student enrolled at TBS is eligible to join the Petit PTA, so if your child would be interested in joining us, please let us know!

The PTA’s first official Meet and Greet Coffee Morning was held Friday morning. Everyone mixed and mingled as some of our upcoming events were discussed. Additionally, this year’s PTA working groups were announced: Charities, Communications, Events, DAB Team, LIM Team, Secondary/IB Team, International Reps, Class Friends, and Lost Property/Second-Hand Uniforms. A big thank you to everyone who came and made the event such a success! If you missed the coffee morning but would still like some information on one or more of these groups, please contact us. Signups for the teams will be held Wednesday, 18 September.

Please remember to label your child’s belongings. All found items that are labeled will be returned to the owner, but any unlabeled property is delivered to the lost property closet.

PTA Spotlight

Olivia Squyres

Hey Y’all! My name is Olivia Squyres and I am a part of the PTA Communications team. Home will always be Texas, but we moved to Warsaw two years ago because my husband was assigned to the US Embassy as the Army Operations Officer. I have two daughters, Lena in Year 7 and Evie in Year 4.

I am asked quite often why we chose TBS over the local American school. The answer is simple enough: the parents and staff of TBS made us feel welcome and at home. That is why I was so excited to be an active part of the PTA. I wanted the chance to make incoming families feel as welcomed as I was made to feel.

This is, sadly, our last year at TBS before moving to parts unknown. But I will always remember the wonderful experiences I’ve had with our PTA. If you’re looking for a way to really plug in to the TBS community, I definitely recommend becoming involved with the PTA.
