I am mostly looking forward to developing the art department and building the confidence amongst our art students to explore further in their passion.

Who is your favourite historian/scientist/literary figure and why?

One of my favourite authors/academics is Elliot W. Eisner. He wrote a book called, “The Arts and the Creation of the Mind.” This book explores and talk about how the arts are crucial for developing complex and subtle aspects of the mind. In the book he describes how various forms of thinking are evoked and developed when we encounter the arts. Needless to say he is a firm believer in the power behind arts educations and why it is so crucial for it in schools.
