A few days before the Minister of National Education announced the regulation to close all schools in Poland, when it was already known about the imminent threat of the COVID-19 virus, I was asked by the school Receptionist to answer a few questions asked by the Parent.
One of our School's Mums was waiting for me, worried about the situation with the question whether the school was planning to carry out disinfection? I answered truthfully with - it is already being carried out; how often - at least three times a day; since when – for the last three months.
This is all true. Since safety in our School is a priority, and since it is a matter of safety in the broadest sense of the word, and of providing appropriate learning and working conditions for students and teachers and staff, we introduced additional preventive measures at the start of the year.
The introduction of this measure was initiated by the appearance among the students of an increased number of seasonal colds and flu-like illnesses, which are observed by the School Management and by the medical staff on duty daily in the nurses' offices.
As a precautionary measure, in addition to daily thorough cleaning of classrooms, offices, bathrooms and corridors, we have introduced a weekly laundering of carpets and toys in the Early Years Campus and a daily disinfection of tables and desks, shelves and chairs.
After being informed about the growing risk of the COVID-19 virus, we have introduced regular disinfection of door and window handles, staircase and school entrance railings, elevator buttons and other frequently touched items of equipment including, of course, the entire equipment of all the toilets, while maintaining, of course, thorough cleaning and disinfection of all rooms including cleaning of school corridors.
Preparing at the beginning of the year to implement the prophylactic measures described above, we also made additional purchases of cleaning and disinfecting agents in consultation with the medical company with which we cooperate in the field of health prevention.
These additional purchases of agents have been very useful to us during the prevention activities during the current threat.
After closing the school, we carried out thorough cleaning and disinfection of all offices and premises of the school to ensure safe working conditions for those employees who have to work and teachers preparing for e-learning.
The school building is all prepared for when the students return to the campus.
At this point I would like to thank all the companies and their employees whose work ensures the everyday smooth and safe functioning of our Schools, especially in this difficult period for everyone.
With kind regards,
Director of Administration
