Turn that frown upside down...but how?

As Mr Guyler discussed in last week's blog, 2020 has presented us all with challenges previously unheard of.

Now, more than ever, we are realising the importance of having peace of mind; being resilient when things are just plain hard and learning to adapt to situations that were far beyond our comprehension. At TBSW, we choose to see the positive side and draw important learning opportunities from all situations, good or bad. Therefore, we have devoted the first few weeks of the Autumn term to developing our student's growth mindset and equipping them with the tools they need in learning and in life to overcome difficult situations and cultivate a positive mind set. We believe in the importance of developing our student's inner champions and ability to positively self-talk: essential in overcoming the inner critic who likes to build walls of doubt and fear.

We encourage you to discuss the importance of positive self-talk with your children at home and share some of your own tips in overcoming your inner critic with them. It is important for our children to see that we all experience negative thoughts and feelings from time to time, but that we can overcome them.
