Kristen Ramsland

I was raised in a big family in Catonsville, Maryland. In my younger years, I counted down the days until I turned 12, because I would finally be able to start babysitting. I continued to nanny through college and during nursing school I spent my Saturdays with my first pediatric patient. I officially became a nurse in 2014 after receiving my ASN from the Community College of Baltimore County and sitting for boards.  I took my first nursing job circulating in the operating room at Medstar Harbor Hospital, eventually becoming the evening charge nurse. I spent three valuable years in the operating room. I learned a lot, but I missed working with children, so I pivoted my career path and took a position working as a school nurse in Baltimore City, later going on to earn my BSN from Chamberlain University.

I am now proud to be a part of the BISW community. I look forward to partnering with the families to support the health needs of students. My goal is to provide safe, compassionate, comprehensive nursing care to every student I see in my office.
