Frequently asked questions
- What happens during a Stay & Play session?
You and your child will explore our Early Years classrooms, take part in play-based activities, and meet our experienced teachers. You will see children learning through purposeful play within the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, building, creating, and discovering with skilled adults gently guiding the way.
- Can my child attend independently, or do I need to stay?
- This depends on your child’s age. For children aged 2–3, parents stay and explore alongside their child throughout the morning. Being together helps little ones settle with confidence in a new environment.
In our 4–5 year old classroom, children are dropped off with our Early Years teachers. This gives them the chance to experience greater independence in a safe, nurturing space, just as they would on a regular school day. Parents are welcome to enjoy refreshments and spend time with our team while their child explores.
- What if my child doesn’t speak English?
Your child will be warmly welcomed, exactly as they are. English is the language of learning at PBIS, but immersion never means pressure. Children pick up language naturally through play, stories, songs and warm daily routines. Home languages are genuinely celebrated; a strong first-language foundation supports both wellbeing and progress in English. With more than 60 nationalities in our community, your child will be surrounded by peers on similar journeys.
- What comes after Early Years? Is there a pathway for my child at PBIS?
PBIS offers a complete educational journey from Early Years through to the IB Diploma a continuous pathway that grows with your child.
The values at the heart of our Early Years, belonging, curiosity, communication and confidence are woven through every stage of learning at PBIS. As part of Nord Anglia Education, students also benefit from global learning partnerships and an education that prepares them for an interconnected world.
