Students at Prague British International School, which is part of the global Nord Anglia Education family of schools, are celebrating today after receiving their long-awaited IGCSE International General Certificate of Secondary Education) results. Our students’ incredible achievements in this special year have created an amazing atmosphere across our school as we celebrate their successes.

We believe there is no limit to what students can achieve socially, personally and academically. This year again, our students’ academic results reflect our shared commitment to excellence.

Between the 4th and 6th February 2020, PBIS hosted 4 inspectors from Penta International, a leading inspection organisation that is authorised by the British Government to inspect British Schools Overseas.

The PBIS community came together on Friday to honour the Scottish poet Robert Burns in the gorgeous surroundings of the Narodni Dum na Vinohradech.

It was great to see so many students and parents interested in our IGCSE, IB and BTEC Options. We were showcasing our curriculum as well as exciting new developments to support students’ learning journey. Our Libuš Campus was open the whole evening and events took place throughout the campus. Students and parents attended talks and visited subject classrooms to engage with current students and teachers.

Over the last year, Prague British International School has been working on developing the fitness area at its Libuš campus. On Friday 17th January Vladimír Šmicer, the former Czech International football player, cut the ribbon to officially open the Fitness Suite and Active Zone.

On September, 25 - 30 2019 the Czech School Inspectorate inspected our bilingual school - Česko Britská Základní Škola. Its main goal was to evaluate the conditions, level and results of education provided by this primary school.

It was early May 2019 when a large group of IB students started talking about visiting CERN, the place where top scientists from all around the world seek the origin of the Universe by simulating the conditions prior to the Big Bang.

Learning and Performance Institute accredits Nord Anglia Education Nord Anglia Education (NAE) today announced that it has received formal accreditation from the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), the leading authority on workplace learning with global reach. Accessed by its 13,500 employees, NAE’s unique online learning platform - Nord Anglia University – is recognised by the LPI as an exemplar for learning and development.

Last weekend, PBIS hosted Juilliard-NAE Regional Music and Dance professional development course for music and dance teachers across Europe and the Middle East. The event was led by Kathryn Andersen, Violinist & Senior Curriculum Specialist, Juilliard Global K-12 Programs, and Hilary Easton, Director of Global K-12 Dance Programs and Faculty, Juilliard Dance Division.

As part of Nord Anglia Education’s collaboration with UNICEF, students across the globe have been raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through projects at their schools. The SDGs are a collection of 17 goals set by the United Nations regarding social and economic development issues.

On Thursday 13th June, 11 students from Key stage 3 and 4 visited the asylum centre in Kostelec Nad Orlici with Ms Hamel and Ms Tichotova to deliver welcome packs for children and teenagers living there.

More than 150 parents and staff gathered for the annual PBIS Burns Night on Friday. Guests were greeted by a (rather cold) piper and then enjoyed an evening of Scottish food, drink, poetry, song and dance all in honour of the 18th century Scottish poet, Robert Burns.

Year 9 and upper seniors were treated to a wonderful concert this morning at Libus campus from Westbourne Grammar School, Melbourne. The orchestra and choir are on their European tour and have performed in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and arrived in Prague yesterday where they will perform tomorrow evening in the centre of town. They will finish their tour in Austria, Salzburg and Vienna.

On Thursday morning, students were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver awards in the beautiful Old Town Hall in Staroměstské náměstí. 41 of our students were present to receive their awards along with students from other international schools in Prague. Two of those students, Eliška Chocová and Sandra Hoangová, who were both receiving their Bronze award, performed at the ceremony and blew the audience away with their beautiful voices and Eliška's ukulele skills, which she learned as part of her DofE.

What a way to end the term! Wonderful Christmas singing involving all the Kamyk students, mixed with a variery of Christmas Market stalls.
