Safeguarding at Regent's International School Bangkok
At Regent's, we take every precaution to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in our care.
Our safeguarding policy and practice is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It considers the best global approaches, including those used in the UK, whilst also recognising our own cultural and social context.
We believe that children should be respected and their views should be heard. It's our responsibility to ensure that every child forms stable relationships with adults, built on trust and consistent support for their individual needs.
Regent’s Bangkok has developed a comprehensive safeguarding policy and training programme, which is regularly reviewed and updated. This policy links with other procedures, including our visitor policy, safer recruitment policy, health and safety policy, and our emotional and mental wellbeing policy.
All new staff members are subject to our safer recruitment procedures, in which all HR staff are trained, and on arrival at our school new starters take part in safeguarding training. In addition, our students have age-appropriate lessons in safeguarding. We carry out an annual safeguarding audit and adapt and revise our policy on a continual basis. The policy forms a critical component of our evaluation and accreditation with the Council of International Schools (CIS), and ensures we adhere to international standards.

What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding means the things we do as a school to protect the health, rights, and wellbeing of children. This means preventing harm and protecting and supporting children. It especially relates to protecting children from danger, abuse, and neglect.
What should you do if you are concerned?
- Speak to a designated officer immediately (within the school day).
- Make a written record of your concern, sign and date it.
- Respect confidentiality within the scope of the school's safeguarding policy.
