Regents' Staff Lend a Hand to Man's Best Friend

Dogs are thought of as man’s best friend. They are loyal, loving and many of them are lucky enough to have a happy home where they are safe and loved. Unfortunately, for the 1000-plus dogs at the Pattaya Animal Shelter, this is a dream that may never come true.

Regents' Staff Lend a Hand to Man's Best Friend Member's of Regents teaching staff have been volunteering at the Pattaya Animal Shelter, dedicating time to help vaccinate and treat unhealthy canine's.

Dogs are thought of as man’s best friend. They are loyal, loving and many of them are lucky enough to have a happy home where they are safe and loved. Unfortunately, for the 1000-plus dogs at the Pattaya Animal Shelter, this is a dream that may never come true.

Members of staff from Regents International School Pattaya have started to volunteer at the Pattaya Animal Shelter. Each weekend we have been to the shelter to help to care for the 1000 dogs currently living there.

Unfortunately, there are many dogs that are very unwell due to tick infestations as well as more serious illnesses such as mange and cancer. There is one vet who visits every weekend to treat the dogs with mange and cancer, but this is a very big undertaking. The Regents staff who have been volunteering have now been trained to administer vaccinations to support her in her work.

Other work we are doing at the shelter each weekend includes cleaning out cages, washing dogs and starting work on extending cages that are too small for the number of dogs inside.

We are looking for donations of any of the following things to support our work at the shelter:

·         Old bed sheets

·         Old towels

·         Stuffed toys

·         Balls (durable e.g. plastic takraw balls)

·         Unwanted building materials including fencing, cement bricks/slabs, wire

·         Door locks/bolts

·         Unwanted tools

·         Dog leads

·         Collars

·         Dog food and puppy food

·         Dettol

·         Betadine

·         Large plastic bowls

·         Money for vaccinations/vet treatments

We are also looking for anyone who would be willing to give up some of their time to come and spend time with the many dogs that are very affectionate and are in need of the TLC and attention that they do not ever really get.

If you are interested in volunteering or in any of the work we are doing at the Pattaya Animal Shelter please do not hesitate to contact:
