At Regents International School Pattaya, sport is more than just physical activity—it’s a powerful catalyst for personal growth, emotional wellbeing, and lifelong success. Inspired by Nord Anglia Education’s Insights article, What Sport Unlocks for Students, in School and Life, we explore how our students thrive through sport—on the field, in the classroom, and beyond.
Sport builds confidence and character
The Insights article shares the story of Ciara, a student who transformed from dreading PE to becoming a confident multi-sport athlete and team captain. Her journey highlights how sport fosters resilience, leadership, and emotional agility.
At Regents, we see this transformation every day. During our Primary Superheroes Sports Day, students represented Earth, Fire, Air, and Water Houses in a joyful celebration of movement and teamwork. The event showcased their strength, resilience, and collaboration, laying the foundation for confident learners.
Celebrating real achievements
Our students don’t just participate—they excel. In a recent international tournament, the Regents boys' football team earned a silver medal, demonstrating skill, discipline, and teamwork. These achievements reflect the strength of our sports programme, which encourages students to pursue excellence while maintaining balance.
House spirit and healthy competition
House events like Secondary Sports Day bring out the best in our students. This year, Fire House claimed victory, with students showing incredible determination and sportsmanship. From track events to team games, the day was a celebration of active learning and community spirit.
Sport as a pathway to wellbeing
Sport also plays a vital role in student wellbeing. During exam season, many students turn to physical activity to stay balanced and focused. Whether it’s football practice, swimming, or yoga, sport provides a healthy outlet for stress and a boost in mental clarity.
Global opportunities through sport
Through our collaboration with IMG Academy, students gain access to elite training and wellbeing support, preparing them for competitive sport at higher levels while nurturing holistic development.

The language of sport
As Ciara from BISS Shanghai said, “I feel like I speak a whole new language—the language of sport.” At Regents, our students are fluent in that language. It’s a language of effort, encouragement, and evolution—one that prepares them not just for school, but for life.
