Little Robin Hoods in Sherwood Forest

26 októbra 2017

During this term little Robin Hoods from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 followed by the Session 1 program. We have been talking about our special rules at Forest School, we have focused on staying safe around the campfire during roasting marshmallows and before we left the forest, we poured water to fire. Healthy and safety first!

The children have noticed, that in forest are trees with different shapes and colors leaves, falling off the trees. We have learned that it is now Autumn!

It has been lovely to watch the children help each other and gain more confidence. We have looked closely at the mini-beasts that live in our woods. We have talked about how they move, what they like to eat, and where they live. We talked about healthy and poisonous mushrooms, forest fruits and seeds…

The Indian summer and the spider webs around us were fascinating!

The children’s interest has continued in looking on the holes on the ground, the trees and walkways that the animals left out themselves. Some children found some sticks stuck in the ground. “We can’t get them out!” We all had a closer look and found out they were the roots of the tree. What is their job? We have been dealing with a similar questions and having such a good time.
