Dance at St Andrews has become a core part of our school community. We are exceptionally proud of the number of opportunities to Dance at STA and the benefits it brings to our community.

With an acceptance rate of less than 10%, The New York Academy of Sciences has accepted Nysa (Year 11) to two prestigious summer programmes, 'The Junior Academy' and '1000 Girls, 1000 Futures'. Nysa was a perfect candidate, having undertaken an IGCSE in Design Technology: Systems & Controls, VEX robotics, Accelerated Math Class, Drama productions and Duke of Edinburgh alongside her enormous passion for STEM.

Mr Will joins our team of Primary Teachers as a Classroom Teacher for Year 4. Mr Will has a fascinating background in education, sport and coaching. With an array of teaching and coaching experiences in the UK, USA, South Africa and China.

We are excited to introduce you to Ms Anna, our fabulous new Primary Music Teacher. From reading music at Cambridge University, consulting for BBC Bitesize, setting up international music teacher training, to musical speeches in front of British politicians in The House of Parliament. Ms Anna’s journey to St Andrews is fascinating and includes a huge range of experiences in all things music.

As we wait for school inspection, our plans for a safe reopening are ready and available for you to read. Part of the plan is to calculate how many children will return to physical school by surveying the STA community. Alongside this, Dr Erik, a new STA parent who has vast knowledge and experience in Infectious Diseases/Regenerative Medicine has been kind enough to review our reopening plans and offer helpful feedback. Also, Dr Erik has provided very useful answers to some frequently asked questions about Covid-19 and children.

Our opening plan has been submitted as we look forward to a safety inspection of our facilities. In advance of opening the school to the children, we will share with all parents the safety measures in place and provide answers to many of your frequently asked questions. Find out the latest student vaccination opportunities and how students will safely enter St Andrews when our facilities open. Finally, through our Health App, we request your help in completing the 'Vaccine status'.

STA teachers are back in school and using the Health App ATK Screening System. We will share more about our Health App soon as Mr Paul's Heads Lines outline more safety details in our opening plan. In Year 8’s Technology course, half of this year’s students have recently rotated into Robotics. These future AI engineers and tech wizards eagerly unwrapped their VEX equipment and dove right into the construction of their set designs. The theme of learning focuses on Mechanisms, or looking at the motion involved with gears, levers, pulleys, lifts, cranks and linkages.

This week our school will complete and submit to the MOE and OPEC our plan for reopening our school. Once reviewing our opening plans to keep our community safe from COVID-19 infections and inspecting our two campuses, we can then receive approval to open. A Hybrid Model will allow parents to decide where they want their children to learn from safely. Meet Ing Prasansappakit, a graduate of the STA Class of 2021. Ing has excelled over the last two years at St Andrews, from getting immersed in extracurriculars, to starting her own medical charity project and receiving outstanding university offers. Ing has topped her journey off with an outstanding 43 points in the IB Diploma. Ing now sets her sights on a Medicine degree in Thailand and aims to enhance the rural Thai Health Care system.

Meet Mr Derek, our new Head of Science. Mr Derek has an expanse of experience, including over 30 years in education in some of the best schools in the UK, accompanied by a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and a Master’s Degree in Education. Mr Derek also has IB qualifications in Physics and TOK along with IGCSE experience. He has plenty of career highlights, leading winning student teams to NASA competitions in Houston, USA, and month-long World Challenge trips with students to Costa Rica and Vietnam.

Meet Mr Brett, our new vocational learning expert leading the Travel and Tourism and Business and Enterprise BTEC at St Andrews. Mr Brett has a vast range of experience, including 20+ years in the tourism industry, a Master's degree in Tourism, a Bachelor's in Marketing, real-world entrepreneurial experience, and a diverse background in education. He’s also a proud father of two boys and an Aussie passionate about Surfing. Learn more below...

Over the summer, our IB and I/GCSE students received our best-ever results— more information about these to follow during the upcoming Parents’ Information Evenings.

We are immensely proud of Bjorn's incredible accomplishment. It's the first of its kind within St Andrews 25-year history and a record that now belongs to Bjorn. He has conquered the challenges created by his ADHD and dyslexia and achieved the goals he sets for himself. Bjorn's determination to “be the best he can be” is an inspiration to us all.
