St. Andrews students achieve strong results in IGCSEs.
We would like to congratulate our students on their brilliant IGCSE results this year.
Internationally-respected, the International General Certificates of Secondary Education (IGCSE) are the most academically challenging courses currently on offer to 14-16 year old students worldwide.
A continuation of the English National Curriculum, the full two-year program features a combination of coursework and exam work. Students will generally take ten courses and upon passing are awarded qualifications in a full range of core subjects including languages, sciences, humanities, social sciences, arts and design and mathematics. Top universities around the world look to these qualifications as an extra benchmark of performance when considering applications.
At IGCSE, St. Andrews students continue to significantly outperform UK national averages:
36% of all grades achieved by St. Andrews students were A* or A, almost doubling the UK average.
82%of our students achieved 5A*-C grades, significantly outperforming the UK average of 66.9%.
Over 60% of grades in physics, economics, French and Japanese were A* or A.
We are delighted that one of our students received the highest mark in Thailand for IGCSE Mathematics. This is the 3rd time in 4 years that a St. Andrews student has achieved this incredible ranking.
We would also like to congratulate our teachers on another exceptional year: their dedication to our students and school is evident from these high-reaching results. On behalf of the parents and school, we would like to extend our thanks for always challenging our students to be ambitious.
At St Andrews International School, learning goes beyond the classroom through Nord Anglia’s Global Campus, an exclusive online platform that connects students worldwide in dynamic, curriculum-linked activities, challenges, and competitions. From global art competitions and STEAM challenges with MIT to literacy events and service expeditions, students explore real-world issues, express creativity, and grow as global citizens.
At St Andrews, our Early Years Foundation Stage (FS1–FS3) offers a warm, purpose-built environment where children aged 2 to 5 can grow, explore, and thrive through play-based, personalised learning. With small class sizes, dedicated spaces, and strong relationships between educators, children, and families, we create a nurturing ‘small school’ experience within our larger international community, laying the foundation for confident, lifelong learners and an easier ‘big school’ transition.
At St Andrews, safeguarding means ensuring every student feels safe, supported, and protected. Staff and students regularly take part in fire drills, evacuation exercises, and safety routines to stay confident and prepared for any situation. With certified training in first aid and emergency response, our staff are equipped to act quickly and calmly when it matters most. Students remain at the heart of every safety measure, and we’re proud to maintain a secure, well-prepared school environment—audited and supported by both local and international partners.
At St Andrews, the role of Head of Year is vital in supporting both the academic progress and personal development of every student. In Primary School, the Head of Year (or Year Leader) plays a key role in leading academic and pastoral support by ensuring consistent curriculum delivery, fostering student well-being, and creating a safe, engaging environment. While in High School, the Head of Year shifts focus to mainly pastoral care by overseeing student well-being, monitoring attendance, liaising with families, and offering early interventions to help students navigate adolescence and achieve their full potential.
