Hands on History in Year 4! In Year 4 IPC, we have been learning about ancient civilisations, focusing on Ancient Egypt and Ancient Sumer.

In Year 4 IPC, we have been learning about ancient civilisations, focusing on Ancient Egypt and Ancient Sumer.

This week we have explored burial customs. On Thursday, we brought our toys from home to mummify them at school. This is what our friends had to say:

‘It was a lot of fun and my teddy got really wet when I used my water bottle to clean it; it was the water from the Nile.’ Mia

‘The best thing about mummification was that we got to wrap the toys in toilet paper; in was instead of layers of bandages.’ Sasha

‘I learnt lots about the mummification process and I am glad that we are doing this in 2022 and not 2020 because back in 2020 everyone was fighting over toilet paper.’ Enyu

‘I think that the whole investigation was fun and also a little crazy. It wasn’t easy to mummify my bear.’ Larysa

‘In Ancient Egypt, the process of mummification was yucky but when you do it at school, it’s a lot of fun.’ Elisa
