Itinerary
The STEAM Festival is a dynamic program that unites students from Nord Anglia Education schools across The Americas. Students will build friendships and develop their skills through workshops and collaborative projects, while enjoying some of Orlando’s most popular attractions.
Day 1: Arrival & Disney Parks Experience
Out-of-town students will arrive in Orlando throughout the day and kick off their STEAM Festival experience with an exciting visit to a Walt Disney World theme park. Schools will have the opportunity to choose from Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, allowing students to explore the park that best matches their interests while EPCOT is reserved for the festival’s Disney Imagination Campus experience later in the week.
As students explore immersive lands, world-class attractions, and innovative experiences, they’ll see firsthand how creativity, technology, engineering, and storytelling come together to create unforgettable guest experiences. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with new friends from across The Americas Region while building excitement for the STEAM Festival ahead.
Day 2: STEAM Buildathon Begins
Students will dive into the first day of the STEAM Festival Buildathon at Windermere Preparatory School, led by Nord Anglia Education Regional STEAM Leads. Working in collaborative teams with peers from across the region, students will tackle hands-on challenges designed to encourage creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and teamwork.
Throughout the day, students will brainstorm ideas, test solutions, and begin developing projects as part of an immersive STEAM learning experience. After dinner on campus, students will have time to connect, reflect on the day’s progress, and continue building friendships with fellow participants.
Day 3: Innovation in Action & Buildathon Exhibition
The second day of the Buildathon continues at Windermere Preparatory School, where students will build on the ideas and skills developed during Day 2. As they collaborate with teammates, students will continue refining their concepts, problem-solving creatively, and preparing their final projects for presentation.
In the evening, students will come together for a special Buildathon Exhibition, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and teamwork they have developed throughout the festival. The day will conclude with dinner on campus and a closing celebration, giving students the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, reflect on their experience, and enjoy one final evening with new friends from across The Americas Region.
Day 4: Disney Imagination Campus & EPCOT Exploration
On the final full day of the festival, students will participate in an inspiring Disney Imagination Campus workshop, where they’ll learn from Disney professionals through immersive, hands-on experiences that explore the connection between creativity, innovation, storytelling, and technology. These workshops give students the opportunity to see how STEAM concepts are applied within Disney’s world-renowned parks and experiences.
After the workshop, students will spend the remainder of the day exploring EPCOT, experiencing the park’s unique blend of innovation, culture, and imagination. From thrilling attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Soarin’ Around the World to the immersive experiences and global pavilions of World Showcase, students will enjoy a memorable day of discovery, creativity, and connection.
Day 5: Farewell & Departure
After an incredible week of creativity, collaboration, and innovation, students and chaperones will depart Orlando. Transportation to the airport will be provided via pre-arranged coach or bus, scheduled according to each school’s flight time. As they head home, students will carry with them lasting memories, new friendships, and the inspiration gained from a week of immersive STEAM experiences and collaborative problem-solving.
