In October 2002 David completed a Master of Teaching degree at the University of Sydney, and he has completed a Bachelor of Business at Newcastle University with a major sequence in accounting and management. Working as a high school teacher in suburban high schools for 5 years in Australia, he has also taught young children in international schools around the globe for 13 years. David has completed extensive IB training in Economics and Business Management through the IBO. He is deeply passionate about teaching and working with young people and know that strong motivation underpins fantastic learning experiences. He believes that the most effective teaching methodologies are active and pupil-centred, exponential learning where students take educational responsibility, are empowered in their own learning, progress, and reflection. He is attracted to BIS Hanoi’s high academic standards and strong academic results.
David and his wife Yosiska, enjoy travelling and experiencing new international settings around the globe. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his two young children. Plus, he also enjoys watching football, swimming, assisting in the Duke of Edinburgh program and going to the gym.
