I graduated from the University of Windsor, Canada with an Honours BA in History and English in 2002, and I received my Bachelor of Education Degree in 2003. During my teaching career I have had the opportunity to work in South Korea (2004), China (near Guangzhou in 2005), Mexico (2006), Oman (2007), England (2007, 2008), Qatar (2009), and my home country of Canada (2010-2015). I have just completed my Masters of Professional Education at the University of Western Ontario, specializing in Curriculum Studies and Multiliteracies. I am passionate about creating a learning environment that allows all students, regardless of cultural background or ability, to use their strengths to achieve success. I get excited about using technology in the classroom (although I will always have a soft spot for hard copy books), and I love hands-on activities and cross-curricular learning.
Hello, and welcome to the English Department! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am thrilled to be joining the BSB family on both a professional and personal level. I have two children- Jake (8 months) and Matilda (2 years old). Matilda will be starting Teddies at BSB this year, and I now understand why parents always say that children grow up too quickly! Being a parent has given me a new appreciation for the whole child, and the importance of making sure that each child is treated as an individual. Although I am teaching at the secondary level, I look forward to participating in whole school events and helping to make BSB a vibrant and caring international community.
