There is a big emphasis on singing in our curriculum and we also give students the chance to try a range of other instruments of particular interest to them.

About the programme

The instrumental programme at The British International School Budapest is very popular with our students. Music teachers visit the school every week. All are highly experienced and have an excellent command of English. Students have the opportunity to participate in many instrumental concerts throughout the year and also may enter for examinations with the Associated Board of the Royal College of Music http://hu.abrsm.org/en/home or Rock School http://www.rockschool.co.uk/ . which are held in Budapest every June.

Please refer to the table below which show the instruments that we offer and the teachers contact details.

Individual lessons of 30 minutes cost 3500HUF. The teacher will send you an invoice for each term. Payment can be made directly to the teacher or by bank transfer.

Individual lessons last for 30 minutes, once or twice weekly. Primary school students can take lessons in school time, in consultation with their class teacher, or after school. Secondary school students have their lessons at break time, lunch time or after school. If you would like your child to have more than one lesson a week, additional lessons may have to take place after school. Should you wish your child to have a lesson longer than 30 minutes then this will also be scheduled after school and at the discretion of the instrumental teacher.

Parents of continuing students should contact their teacher as soon as possible to confirm their place for the next academic year.

Parents of new students should contact the teachers directly to discuss in more detail your requirements and ask any specific questions you may have.

The closing date for applications will be Sunday 30 August 2015. As the programme is very popular we strongly advise parents to sign up and secure their place as soon as possible. We will endeavour to provide this opportunity for all those students wishing to learn an instrument, however, in the event of over-subscription, places will be offered on a first come, first served basis and a waiting list will be opened.

We recommend those students planning to take either the Rock School or ABRSM Music exams  to sign up for two lessons per week.
