years 7-9
key stage 3 curriculum
Our Key Stage 3 curriculum supports students through the transition from primary to secondary school.
Our learners follow a tailored version of the English National Curriculum, which includes English, mathematics, science, a world language (either French, German or Spanish), geography, history, ICT, art, PE, and music. Students get a flavour of what it would be like to study each subject at IGCSE level, helping them to make their IGCSE option choices at the end of Year 9.
We encourage active learning and critical thinking, and offer a range of opportunities for students to enhance their communication skills, including taking part in debates and giving presentations. Our young people represent the school at various functions and give their peers a voice through our Student Council.
Our Moodle Virtual Learning Environment also plays an integral role in our students’ education. Your child will take part in exciting projects on our Global Campus platform, too, including creative writing and maths challenges. Learning is brought to life by activities outside the classroom, expert visits, talks, and residential trips.
