THE BIS BUDAPEST (EYFS) CURRICULUM

At our international kindergarten in Budapest, we teach the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Our play-based programme nurtures creativity and curiosity, and inspires our children to imagine, investigate, and discover. Guided by our specialist early childhood educators – and learning in dedicated, age-appropriate spaces – our children hit their seven EYFS curriculum milestones.

THE BIS BUDAPEST EYFS CURRICULUM

Our 3 to 5-year-olds follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. At this formative stage in their education, our teachers will guide your child through the seven EYFS curriculum areas of learning and development.
The seven EYFS areas:
  • Communication and language.
  • Physical development.
  • Personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Literacy.
  • Maths.
  • Understanding the world.
  • Expressive arts and design.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY

At BIS Budapest, we encourage learning through active play. We know children learn best when they’re happy, engaged, and motivated, which is why we offer a wide range of opportunities – guided by the EYFS curriculum framework – that both fascinate and challenge.

In our safe and happy international kindergarten here in Budapest, our students 'play to learn', developing their natural enquiry, creativity, and critical thinking skills. We make full use of our wonderful playgrounds, too, which are an extension of the classroom. Your child will immerse themselves in a variety of outdoor experiences that not only develop their movement and gross motor skills, but which are also lots of fun.

Purposeful play
Every day is packed with purposeful play. Your child will run, jump, and climb in our colourful playgrounds – developing their gross motor skills – and get tactile with water, sand, and mud in our multi-sensory outdoor space.

Forest School
It’s time for an adventure into the forest. Your child will become an explorer, discovering everything there is to know about animals and plants, looking for bugs, and getting active on our rope and climbing courses.

Food for thought
From nutritious snack choices to healthy lunches, our chefs whip up tasty treats specifically designed for our smallest children. Eating a balanced diet gives our learners the energy they need to play and explore. And after lunch, there’s always time for a nap!

Sharing our day
After a busy day of activities, we come together to share what we’ve learnt. This includes talking about our favourite things, reinforcing fundamental reading, writing, and maths concepts, and watching videos of everyone having fun.
