KEY STAGE 2 CURRICULUM
The BIS Budapest Key Stage 2 curriculum is full of exciting and stimulating learning experiences – in and beyond the classroom – that encourage our students to collaborate, ask questions, and share their knowledge.
In line with the British National Curriculum for England, our children study English, maths, science, music, geography, history, art, and PE. From Year 3, our students take part in our world languages curriculum, learning either Hungarian (for native speakers), French, or additional English language. We’re proud to be a bilingual primary school, which offers many opportunities to develop language skills.
In our bright and welcoming classrooms, teachers and children take great delight in their work, proudly displaying their learning. The latest interactive education technology is embedded across all subjects and our students also get an early introduction to computer coding. From Year 4, children have access to our Global Campus online platform, enabling them to collaborate and learn alongside thousands of students across the Nord Anglia family.
We also run weekly Hungarian culture sessions that encourage an understanding of the traditions of our host country. Children can also learn a range of musical instruments through our peripatetic programme and join one of our many creative co-curricular activities.
Our children go swimming and enjoy a variety of team games and individual sports, both here at our British primary school in Budapest and at Nord Anglia Education sports tournaments across Europe. All our Key Stage 2 students take part in two or three-night residential camps, too. These are great opportunities to explore different surroundings, grow in independence, learn new skills, and form strong relationships.
