Tina started her teaching career in 2004 after seven successful years working in the finance industry managing offshore trusts and companies in Jersey (Channel Islands). Her first teaching post was in a Primary school in West Sussex, after which she took up her first international school post in Bangkok. During her time in Bangkok, Tina taught in KS2 and was KS2 Maths co-ordinator responsible for the implementation of Big Maths within the school.
Tina wishes to ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential, through providing them with a rounded education. She believes that challenging children outside the classroom is just as important as nurturing their academic talent. She feels it is very important to develop children’s abilities to work as part of a team, communicate well and overcome challenges with determination so that they can become life-long learners.
Tina thoroughly enjoys coaching gymnastics and other sports, leading expeditions and trips as it gives her the opportunity to get to know students outside of the classroom. Outside of work she tries to keep active and enjoys rollerblading, pilates, yoga and cycling through beautiful scenery. She is also a keen photographer and likes capturing people and places. This includes marine life when she goes scuba diving.
