Lionel Basa

Lionel Basa

ICT Teacher

MSc Information Technology Teacher, University of Szeged, Faculty of Science

BA Pedagogy, University of Szeged, Juhász Gyula Teacher Training College

Lionel’s life was always about teaching and computer science. He started his teaching career in 2003 and spent more than 10 successful years in Hungarian education, both as a primary and secondary teacher. During his teaching career, he successfully prepared students for the Hungarian Final State Exam year on year, as well as winning some nation-wide competitions with his primary students, enabling them to receive the European Computer Driving Licence.

After gaining significant experience in the Hungarian education system, Lionel started looking for bigger challenges and as a result he took up his first international post at the British International School Budapest in 2014.

Lionel believes the secret of teaching ICT lies in the enthusiasm of following the rapid technological progress. Most of the students live in a digital world already, so Lionel is ambitious for using the newest technologies in the classroom, too. He has always been open to new methods, and is committed to build his lessons on the newest advancements. He believes this is the foundation of ICT teaching. ICT is really a subject where lifelong learning must happen. He enjoys working in such an international community and with  a brilliant team of professionals, as the possibilities are endless here.

Besides ICT and teaching, Lionel likes spending his free time travelling, going for long walks around Budapest, exploring the city, watching good movies in the cinema and swimming. He is also a big fan of science fiction series and movies.
