Ms Lehr-Balló graduated from the University of Leipzig, Germany in 2003 with a M.A. degree in German as a Foreign Language and American Studies. Her first job appointment brought her to Budapest, where she worked for the Goethe-Institute for 7 years. There she has taught all language levels from A1 to C2 and was involved in develop teaching materials as well as providing professional training for Hungarian German teachers. She continues working as an examiner at Goethe-Institute. After a one-year maternity leave she was asked to teach a German IB class at BISB, which she joined in 2011. This has proved to be a great opportunity to broaden her professional horizon as well as working with international students.
She also holds a teaching position at ELTE-University where she engages in professional training for future Hungarian German teachers on Kindergarten and primary level. She thinks the most wonderful part of her profession is to be able to work with people, to have this constant interaction and learn probably as much from the students (if not more!) as they do from her.
Working in Hungary she met her further husband and they raise two wonderful sons. During her spare time she likes to spend time with them, but also enjoys the cultural richness of the wonderful city of Budapest. She loves arts of all kinds and enjoys museums, books, theatre, cinema, concerts and enjoys singing and playing the piano.
