After being an expat in Shanghai for 14 years where I worked at Dulwich College Shanghai as Head of Internal Communications and Parent Relations and became a mother of two IB graduates, I returned home to London to support my children through their university years. I placed myself in London midway between their universities and joined Dwight, an international School, as their Marketing Manager. Five years later, after completing their degrees, my children were both well established in their careers. My daughter was working as a Project Manager within the international trade industry and my son was just completing his first year as a Visual Effects Artist for a motion picture company in London (where he had worked on the new Lion King movie!!). I decided it was time to start my international adventures again and my children encouraged me so they could add to their holiday destinations!
A few months later I found myself here at the British International School in Abu Dhabi as the Director of Admissions and Marketing. It has only been two weeks, but I have felt so welcomed by the wonderful community here and I am looking forward to sharing how amazing everyone is, students, staff and parents alike with you all in future newsletters, magazines and social media posts.
I am excited to have the opportunity to explore Abu Dhabi and all it has to offer as well as take advantage of the travel opportunities that have now become more achievable due to the close proximity I find myself to many places I thought I would only dream about.
I am so grateful to be part of this wonderful community and look forward to meeting more of you after the summer when you all return. I wish you all a well-deserved summer vacation!
